Individual therapy
On the outside you're holding it all together, but, on the inside, alarms are going off. If you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, or grief I can help you recalibrate your alarm system so you can experience peace and safety again.
Individual therapy is customized, one-on-one, sustained support. It's a unique process designed to improve your life by helping you get clear on what you want for yourself and what it will take for you to get there.
In my work with individuals, the most important aspect is the therapeutic relationship itself, as it often mirrors clients' other significant relationships. I aim to build an alliance of safety, respect, trust, care, and understanding. With this foundation, I offer space for you to move at your own pace to make connections and experience insights that can bring you closer to where you want to be.
I bring my warmth, curiosity, and humor to each session. Together, we can explore old patterns and beliefs that may no longer be serving you and collaborate to create more room for choices and change.
It would be a privilege to accompany you on your journey toward greater wholeness.

Clinical supervision
The foundations of effective clinical supervision are trust and emotional safety. If we fear judgment and recrimination, we can’t be honest about what is going on clinically. How then can we have the clinical conversations that are necessary to be as effective as we can be?
A judgement-free zone does not mean that I will not offer critique – but it is always done with the utmost respect. Our focus is the clinical work, not your personhood or your identity as a therapist.
My approach, like all aspects of my clinical practice, is collaborative.
Inherent in collaboration is an openness to provide mutual feedback and dialogue. I do not impose an agenda; I work with you to find the solutions, resources and options that best fit your reasons for seeking supervision.
I offer clinical supervision for registered and pre-registered clinicians in BC and for licensed clinicians in California. I do not currently offer practicum placement for students.

Groups & Trainings
I offer periodic training and therapy groups focused on various topics including:
Understanding the nervous system and how self-regulation supports better relationships and mental health;
Building resilience in the face of anxiety and stress;
Guiding principles and ethics of therapy practice;
Trauma-informed classrooms - supporting teachers to work with students who have experienced trauma and manifest behavior challenges in the classroom.
Other topics will be developed in the future.
If you are interested in information about upcoming groups or trainings, please email me and indicate your interest in "groups and trainings" in your message.

Couples therapy
Not taking additional couples at this time.
At the heart of many struggles in relationships are barriers to communication that, once explored, can help get to the core of what is keeping your relationship from feeling as fulfilling as you would like.
I work with couples of all sexual orientations, genders and ages, at all phases of relationship. Whether you are just starting to date or have been married for years, I create and firmly uphold a safe supportive space.
I take an active role in helping partners sort out the messy, (but wholly rewarding) experience of being in an intimate relationship.
If you both do the hard work of confronting yourselves and risk being more real and vulnerable with one another, you grow as individuals and will likely find the best way through whatever challenges you face as a couple.
Building safety, trust, and understanding often leads to a closer, more secure and vital relationship.

Video/teletherapy
Offered for BC and California clients.
From the privacy of your own home or office. Virtual therapy has many benefits.
It increases access for busy people, those with mobility issues, people who fear leaving their home, those in remote areas, and anyone who is traveling. It saves time and money as well as reducing environmental impact. Virtual therapy increases confidentiality, provides safety during inclimate weather and improves public health. It frees caregivers from needing to find a sitter and makes scheduling more convenient.
Research indicates virtual therapy is as effective as face to face sessions, and clients report high levels of satisfaction.

Office based services
Offered to BC clients in Vancouver at Tonume multidisciplinary clinic in East Vancouver.
Meeting face to face sometimes feels like the best fit.
If you have trouble finding a private space to meet or are looking for the connection of meeting face to face, office based services are available. Finding the right space to meet, to create the safety you need, to do the work you want to do in therapy is important.

Nature/walking therapy
Offered to BC clients in Vancouver at Trout Lake Park.
The restorative power of nature makes walking therapy a growing practice.
“Time in nature — as long as people feel safe — is an antidote for stress: It can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood… which also help speed the rate of healing. In a recent study, …researchers found that being in nature reduced feelings of isolation, promoted calm, and lifted mood among patients.” - Jim Robbins
Many people experience the ability to make new connections when they participate in therapy in a natural setting.
Fees
Fees are based on type, location and length of service and range from $160 to $185 for individual services.
Fees will be clearly discussed prior to service - typically in the consultation call/Zoom.
Training costs are determined by length of training and size of group.
Good Faith Estimate - notification mandate for California clients
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency health care services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
